How to play 4096 Carry

You hold one number at a time, and a ring marks the square you used last. Put the number in the ringed square’s row or column, on an empty square or on its twin: the lit squares and ringed twins show where it can go. On an empty square the number stays, and the next one comes to your hand. On its twin, the two merge into their double, and the double comes back to your hand, so you can carry it on to the next twin: two 8s make 16, and that 16 dropped on a 16 makes 32. Only two tiles ever merge at once. The game ends when the row and column hold no empty square and no twin. Build a 4096 to win.

When your best tile reaches 128, the 2s retire and new numbers start at 4. Each doubling after that retires the next number. The number after the one in your hand shows as Next. Tap or click a lit square or a ringed twin. With a keyboard: arrow keys move, Space or Enter sets the number. U undoes a move, 3 per game.
