How to play 4096 Blast

Tap an empty square to set down the tile shown under Place, or tap its twin to drop it on top, and the two merge into their double. Where the tile lands it sets off a blast: each of the 8 tiles touching that square, up, down, sideways and corner to corner, is shoved one square straight away from it. A shoved tile moves into an empty square, or merges with its twin if that is the square behind it, so two 8s make 16. A wall or any other tile holds it in place. Each shoved tile has its own square to go to, so twins always merge two at a time.

The game ends when there is no empty square and no twin of your tile left to drop it on. You can see the next tile too. Point at a square, or move the cursor, to see which twins your blast would bring together. When your best tile reaches 64, new tiles start at 4; at 128 any 2s left on the board retire, and each doubling after that moves both up one. Keys: arrows move the cursor, Space or Enter places, U undoes. You have 3 undos a game.
