Jump a tile onto its twin with a chess knight’s move: two squares one way and one to the side, an L. The two merge into their double on the square you land on: two 8s make 16. Only twins merge, two at a time, and nothing else ever does. The square you jumped from takes the next tile, shown under the board, so pick your jumps with an eye on where it lands. The game ends when no twins are a knight’s jump apart. Build a 4096 to win.

When your best tile reaches 256, the 2s retire: they make way for new tiles, which start at 4. Each doubling after that retires the next number. Tap a tile to ring its twins a jump away (dots mark the other squares it reaches), then tap a twin, or drag the tile onto it; tap the tile again to put it down.
