How to play 4096 Road

You start on the kerb holding a number, and five homes wait across a busy road. Hop up, down, left or right across two lanes of cars, rest on the grass strip in the middle, and hop into a home at the top. An empty home keeps your number; a home with your twin merges with it into the double, so a 16 brought to a 16 home makes 32. A home that holds a different number will not let you in. Then twin homes side by side merge, one pair at a time, into the home you reached. Every car has a number too: run into the car that matches yours and the two merge, so you carry the double home. Any other car knocks you back to the kerb and costs one of five hearts; a lost heart comes back after 35 seconds, and the game ends with no hearts left. Your twin car stops coming once you carry four times your best home, so bring it home. The cars speed up as your homes grow. Build a 4096 to win.

Tap the road toward where you want to hop, or swipe. Keys: ← ↑ → ↓ or W A S D hop, P pauses, and the game pauses itself when you leave the page. U rewinds about 3 seconds, 3 times per game. Your twin car and your twin home glow gold, and the strip shows the number you get next. Your game and best score stay in this browser.
