New tiles 2 – 32

Tap a tile that touches its twin. The twins flow into the tile you tapped, which becomes their sum: two 8s make 16, four 8s make 32. Tiles merge two, four, eight or sixteen at a time, so the sum is always 4, 8, 16 or another doubling; in a group of three, the twin nearest your tap joins and the third stays. Up, down, left and right count; diagonals don’t. Tiles above fall into the gaps and new tiles drop in from the top, so pick the tile you tap with care. The game ends when no two twins touch. Build a 4096 to win.

When your best tile reaches 256, the 2s retire and new tiles start at 4. Each doubling after that retires the next number. Hold a tile to see which twins join and what they make; slide to another tile in the group to land there instead, or slide off to cancel. With a keyboard: arrow keys move, Space or Enter pops. U undoes a pop, 3 per game. Your game, best score and record for the fewest taps to 4096 stay in this browser.
