How to play 4096 Alien

A fleet of numbered aliens marches side to side across the sky, and each time it reaches an edge it turns and steps one row down. Your cannon below holds a number. Fire it up a column and it hits the lowest alien there. If that alien is its twin, the two merge into their double, and when the new number matches the alien above it, those two merge as well, one pair at a time, so a 4 fired under a 4 that hangs below an 8 makes 16. A shot that hits any other number sticks under that alien and joins the fleet, and a shot fired where no column of the fleet is passing flies off and is lost. Every hit that merges pushes the whole fleet one row back up. The fleet marches faster as your numbers grow, and the game ends when an alien reaches the red line above your cannon. Build a 4096 to win.

Tap a column to fire up it, or use ← and → to aim and Space or ↑ to fire. P pauses, and the game pauses itself when you leave the page. U rewinds about 3 seconds, 3 times per game. Your next number is shown at the top, and the lowest aliens that are twins of the number in your cannon glow gold. Your game and best score stay in this browser.
